Stephen
D. Marlowe founded the firm in 1997 to serve the
legal needs of the construction and commercial communities.
Not long afterward, he was joined by Joseph
V. McNabb to form Marlowe & McNabb, P. A. Both had
been associated with the Construction Law Department
of a large statewide law firm. The firm has extensive
experience in civil practice concentrating in construction,
business transition, corporate and commercial matters
and represents corporations, property owners, general
contractors, subcontractors, material suppliers, architects
and engineers.
Being centrally located
in Tampa, Florida, has allowed the firm to efficiently
handle cases throughout Florida. The firm prides itself
in being on the leading edge in efficient use of technology
with up-to-date case management and litigation software.
Our work includes advising clients
in forming, maintaining and operating their businesses.
We have assisted in starting a number of new corporations
as well as dealing with issues that arise in the activities
of existing corporations. Our work has expanded to include
assisting in planning and implementing transition of
businesses to new owners either through sale, merger
or transfers to the next generation of company leaders
and owners.
 We
are involved in pre-litigation dispute counseling, negotiation
and preparation of contracts and alternative dispute
resolution, including workouts, mediation and arbitration.
We also work extensively with construction liens, surety
claims, construction claims, construction defects and
performance and payment bonds. In addition, the firm
provides business and commercial law and corporate representation
services, such as negotiating and preparing contracts,
non-compete agreements, leases, buy-sell agreements,
purchase and sale of business and the preparation of
corporate documents.
The members of the firm regularly
participate as speakers at continuing education seminars
and are also active in professional association activities
and civic affairs.
The firm is a member of Associated
Builders and Contractors and American Subcontractors
Association and our lawyer have held a variety of offices
in these organizations. Our lawyers are members of the
American Bar Association, the Florida Bar and the Hillsborough
County Bar Association. They are admitted to practice
in all the courts of Florida, the U. S. Court of Appeals,
11th Circuit, and the U.S. District Court for the Middle
District of Florida.
